About Children Come First

The Children Come First Conference is for those caring for, working with, or concerned with the well being of children and young adults with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Each year, this conference brings together professionals, educators, and families, with national experts in the field of children's mental health.

 

The theme of the 30th Annual Children Come First Conference is Cooperation.  Conference dates are November 11-12, 2019.

Monday, November 11

7:30-8:30 – Registration and Continental Breakfast

8:30-8:45 – Opening remarks

8:45-10:00 – Keynote with Mona Delahooke – graphic recording by Sue Keely

10:00-10:15 – Break

10:15-11:30 – Session A Workshops – Sue Keely with youth – “Communicate Using Drawings”

11:30-12:30 – Lunch
11:45-12:15 - Book Signing with Mona Delahooke

3:30-4:45 - Session D Workshops – Tim Markle with youth – “How to Survive Yourself: One Story of Depression, Addiction and Self-Harm”

Tuesday, November 12

1:45-2:00 – Break with Snack
2:00-2:30 – Youth Presentation with Sue Keely of the youth’s graphic recordings/posters, plus Maria Lipan assisting youth in sharing the art they created
2:30-2:45 – Closing Remarks
2:45-3:15 – Pick Up Door Prizes at Registration Table
